The Last Supper of Leonardo da Vinci is jealously guarded inside the refectory of the Dominican convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan.

Leonardo made this work of astonishing beauty on the north wall of the room between 1494 and 1498, during the lordship of Ludovico il Moro.

Leonardo painted this masterpiece “dry-stone” instead of using the fresco technique usually used for wall paintings.

Unfortunately, over time, due to environmental conditions and historical events, the work has suffered heavy deterioration and can only be seen in part.

There has been numerous restoration works on the Last Supper, and in particular that of 1999, he returned the original colors to the painting and removed the previous paintings.

To prevent the painting from being damaged, now it is kept in special environmental conditions, with special air treatment, and can only be visited by groups of up to 25 visitors each time, every 15 minutes.
