WHY VISIT PERU
Lima, noisy and crowded, is almost an obligatory stop: You will enjoy the hospitality of its people, its nightlife and its many interesting museums, the catacombs of the San Francisco church, the bohemian district of Barranco, the Armas Plaza and the pretty beaches of Miraflores where you can admire a beautiful sunset.
Then follow the south coast where you go through the Paracas National Reserve, sheltering a variety of local wildlife such as sea lions, condors, and giant jellyfish.
Cuzco, in the southeast, means in Quechua “the navel of the universe”: A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it should not be missed. The Coricancha (the gold district), the Inca Temple of the Sun, the Santo Domingo convent, the cathedral architecture showing varied influences, and many other wonders are waiting to be discovered.
Nearby, Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas, is one of the most visited sites in the world. The stunning and sophisticated constructions, but also the landscapes and surroundings easily explain this fact!
Lake Titicaca is another Peruvian myth: Its altitude (3,820m), the perfect blue water, and clean air make it a fascinating place that you can visit by boat.

There are two main seasons that alternate: A wet season from October to April and a dry season from May to September.
These seasons vary according to the area: The humidity is higher in tropical areas, particularly from January to April. The coast is more pleasant from December to March, as it is milder and less foggy. In the Andes, it is drier during May which is, therefore, the time to go hiking.
The best time to visit the Amazon forest is between April and November to avoid the high humidity.
